York Festival of Ideas presents over 200 mostly free events designed to educate, entertain and inspire.
The 2024 Festival took place from 1-14 June under the banner of ‘The Power Of…’ Many of the talks were recorded, so why not watch again or catch up on a talk that you missed on our York Ideas YouTube channel? You can also sign up to the mailing list to be among the first to hear about our exciting 2025 programme!
The 2025 Festival will take place from 31 May to 13 June under the theme of ‘Making Waves’.
Read our York Festival of Ideas 2024 Impact Report.
St Nicks Autumn Fayre – October
St Nicks’ annual fundraiser celebrating all things autumn! Every year they are joined by local organisations and businesses who help make a difference for the planet, whilst enjoying nature’s harvest. See the 2024 program here.
Apple Pressing
Several groups around the city host apple pressing days around harvest season to preserve the huge harvest that comes all at once and stop them all going to waste. They can be a really good place to take surplus apples, and get stuck in to the fun of shredding, pressing and bottling them.
