Acomb Wood is a mature, even-aged woodland dominated mainly by oak. Typical species include robin, great tit, blue tit, wood mouse and grey squirrel. Acomb Wood Meadow is an example of agriculturally unimproved neutral grassland. Typical flowers include meadowsweet, greater birds-foot trefoil, common knapweed and meadow vetchling. The meadow also attracts a variety of butterflies including common blue, small skipper and small copper.
